Smile New to forum

Hey all,
I'm new to the forum with a 2000 XK8 that I have had for 10 years. I'm 64 and live in Carmel IN. Car handles great but always something needs repaired. I will do simple repairs myself but not anything major. This forum looks fantastic.
This summer, I let my grandkids learn to drive with the XK8. What an experience! They (twins) were 14 and neither had ever started a car or been behind the wheel. Went to big parking lot and the fun began. Both did excellent with 3 short lessons (really interesting seeing them try to back-up for the first time). I can take them on the streets in April when they get their driving permits.

Welcome to the forum Mike,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You could be spending a lot more time as a passenger after next April!

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Mid West Region forum by following this link USA Mid West - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Mike,
My first driving experience was with my grandfather. He let me sit in his lap and steer his pickup on a deserted country road. I think I was 8 at the time but that started my addiction to steering wheels. LOL

What a cool grandfather you must be to teach your grandkids to drive in a Jag!
