Unhappy new to the forum

Hey: Wish this intro was under better circumstances. I am not happy with my '04 X-Type right now. Have had to replace the battery after only 12 months for the 3rd year in a row!!! I've had it! The Jag dealer just replaces the battery instead of doing root cause analysis -- what the heck is causing a perfectly good 5 year warranty battery to die after 12 months, each new battery lasting only 12 months for 3 straight years! Has someone had this problem and perhaps can do a better job of assessing what may be causing this problem? I am afraid to say, that last episode has made me want to sell it and be done with it. It's a pretty car, too bad. Probably went way more than the basic intro. Sorry guys.

Hi 57 and welcome aboard, great to have you here with us at JF.
sorry to hear about your issues.

I had very similar issues with my A6 and had 3 batteries replaced in 3 years, they checked all earth connections, parasitic voltage draw etc etc etc.......4 years in they changed out the starter motor and the problem was solved....no issues since.

Please check into the X section as there's some great guys there who might be able to help out......

Some great guys here, top techs, good info and more than a few laughs here n there, so jump in and enjoy......

manually upgraded you to full forum access so you can better view the site.......enjoy your time here

Thx all, and thx JimC64 for your suggesting that perhaps the Starter may explain the problem. No one has mentioned the Starter before as the possible culprit. I am hopping over the X-Type forum as well. Thx all for your responses.
