Default New to forum - Hi!

Hello
I'm Phil from Basingstoke, UK. I've recently bought a 1998 XJ Sport after wanting a "Jag" for years. I've already benefited from the forum by finding the key transmitter re-programming thread. I wanted to give my remote a good clean, but had to make sure I could reset it before I cleaned it. So, its very clean and works much better with new batteries from miles away!!
I'm interested in finding out any tips on cleaning outside and inside. For example, best paintwork polish/treatment and tips for cleaning such a vast area of bodywork and I've got a noise which I think might be a rear shock absorber bush?
Thanks for having me!
Phil

Also check your rear bumper. If it is loose it is about to fall off due to corrosion of the two mounts. They are the same as the fronts, but the rears get all the salt spray. New mounts are cheap, but the job is a bit of a b****r !

Default Thanks

Hey y'all, you are a very welcoming bunch, thanks.

JImC64: Thanks for the advice and the forum access upgrade.
Cadillac: I'll get some pics up.
Jag Master: Thanks and she does have a certain allure!
Fraser Mitchell: Cheers for the advice. Have swung on bumper without any noise, but poor thing has suffered from a tow bar fitting and the middle of the bumper has been cut back. Also the riveted plastic ties are all broken, but I don't think that is the noise. It's an altogether throatier tone! I am going to mend the ties though and see if it helps.
