New FPace owner from NY- ? on protection plans
Hi all,
Glad to be on the forum. Just bought the FPace 250S. I was sold the Vehicle Protection Plan (covers 1 full set brakes, 1 wheel alignment, 1 wiper replacement and (also 1 battery, mechanical breakdown, belts, hoses, bulbs/fuses - these should not even happen in 4 years). The only value I see is brakes (pads, shoes/rotors) all around and a wheel alignment because I drive in an area with damaged roads. Cost is $2,346 for 4 years. I think this is worth it.
Also bought a tire package - they sold it as 1 package then after I paid and they printed it the contracts (all done on an ipad) - it was areally 2 spearate packages which p'd me off b/c I would not have taken the second. here are those packages:
1) cosmetic wheel protection -up to 8 fixes on the 20" blacked out wheels $1,148 for 48 months. I think I may use this the full 8x given where I have to drive (busy roads, pot holes, tight parking).
2) tire and wheel protection - $1,923 for 4 years. I am thinking of cancelling this one (I have 30 days to cancel). The tire retails for $380 - guessing $440 installed. I would have to blow through 4.4 tires($1,923/$440) to make this worth it in 4 years. I don't see that happening. It covers repair or replacment of damaged tires, replace wheel if structurally damaged, including air pressure monitors. Includes mounting/balancing tires. It covers towing costs - but doesn't roadside assistance cover towing anyway?
Looking for advise on all. I think the 1st for brakes is worth it.
I think the cosmetic may be worth it (I hit curbs)
BUT, I don't think the tire/wheel protection one is worth it.
Your thoughts please.

Welcome to the forums Anna22,
Good to have you with us.
The Vehicle Protection Plan is probably going to pay for itself provided the brakes don't exclude 'fair wear and tear' but the wheel and tyre protection looks expensive.

Hello, Anna,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar F-pace!
I never get tire packages as you describe as I've personally never found them to be worth the cost in my case.
But that's just me.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
