New guy Just learning
I have been stalking for the last 4 weeks after I joined and decided it's time to post.
I bought my wife a 2000 XKR convertable with 96,000 never been in the rust belt so the underside looks brand new.
I want to thank all that have posted as it has helped a lot on the little quirks that I have tinkered with to get the car to a ''like new'' condition.
I wish there was a more inexpensive fix for the front strut mounts as my ''foam'' is bad and it thumps when going over rough roads.
I have to replace the timing componets, found that out when I cleaned the engine compartment and H2O caused a misfire and heard the chain rattle.
Drivers door has a little sag to it but that was an easy fix and have to replace the window regulator, the window.
Since I'm a little OC the navi is bothering me that there is not a support solution to upgrade the DVD to current mapping.
I plan to remove the large center silencer and replace with an X pipe that I ordered from Summit Racing. Gotta let it breath a little and hope it will have a deep throaty sound without getting a rap to it.
Anyway still reading through the posts and learning more about the car.

Welcome to the forum Bill,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums and to hear you've already found useful information.
After the weeks of stalking, ther'll be no need for a link to the XK8/XKR tech section. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Southern MidWest Region forum by following this link Southern MidWest - AR LA MS KY TN AL - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
