New Jag owner from San Clemente Ca.
Hi there everybody, I just bought this really nice 93 xj40 and It won't let me drive it. So I found this fourm and I hope I can find some solutions. the neg battery cable came out of the terminal connector while driving. Now I have no power to thr starter, instument pack, radio, and head lights. I've been told its the anti-thift system but I don't know what about it, or if thats even it.
I got this old 93 xj40 so I can take my dog with me, she is a 2 year old Black Lab Retriver. My roommate went away for a while and left me with her Lexus GX470 but the doggi is not allowed in the car. Im racking my brain on this delema, I need Help please!! Ive checked all the fuses none are blown, Is there a starter relay. The security system is greek to me and I thought I new a fair amount cars until this one. The owners manuel has a big caution about disconnecting the battery while runnig. If anyone can help I would appreciate very much. Thank You

Welcome to the forum autionadict, as above post your question into the XJ40 section.
If all fuses are good, check the inertia switch (behind the side panel down by your left foot), just maybe.
No petrol car likes to run with the batt disconnected, can fry diodes etc in the alternator.
