New to Jaguar and to the forum. Thanks!
Hi. I joined the forum just a couple of days ago as I started a weekend test of an XF-R. I wanted to ask a few questions and was blown away at how VERY helpful everyone was. I made a quick decision and now own my very first Jag! (Full discussion thread is titled "Weekend Test Drive" under the XF forum.
When I moved to Knoxville as a single guy 30 years old I was driving a sweet 85hp Saturn SL. I had it macked out with options which included power steering and A.C. (seriously!....those were the only options on the car). I loved my little Saturn because it reliably moved me from point A to point B. Afterall, isn't that the only thing a car is good for?
As soon as I moved to Knoxville, I met a hot blonde girl (now my smoking hot trophy wife) who was driving a Nissan 300ZX. I quickly discovered that driving can be fun in addition to utilitarian. As I now had a decent paying job, I sold the Saturn and bought a Porsche 968 Cabriolet. That was a beautiful and seldomly seen car. A couple of years later I'm married and starting to think about having kids. We sell her 300 and get a BMW 328i with a 5-speed which served us well for a few years. Kids came and out went the Porsche and in with the Chevy Suburban! Over 12 years of marriage and three kids later, that Chevy now has about 150k miles and has been my daily driver for a couple of years.
I love the Suburban, but it is simply getting old and I made the mistake of driving all of the Audi S cars in one afternoon at my local Porsche/Audi/Jaguar dealer. My car-bug returned and I simply could not shake it. Instead of fighting it, I ended up with a 2011 XF-R with only 7k miles, purchased for $56,200 and with a warranty that expires in March of 2017. (I have a longer warranty on this car than my wife does on a 2012 Infintiy QX56 which we just bought for her new this past July).
I want to publicly thank the members who faithfully and frequently posted on my thread. Y'all made me feel very comfortable and excited about my car.

P.S. In case you were curious....YES, the Jag does have more pickup than the Suburban
