Hi and hello,
Just though I would introduce myself in here. Unsurprisingly my name is Dave Page (I know it was probably hard to crack that from my username). I recently changed my trusty Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDDi Ghia for an X-Type as my Mondeo was showing signs of expensive repairs needed after just over 3 years of trouble free motoring. This is why I decided on the X-Type as its based on the same platform as the Mondeo, but didnt want to get another Mondeo (as when I change I like to to feel like a change which another Mondeo wouldn't).
Had the X-Type for almost a month and loving it. Lots of toys to amuse me and looks excellent.
Below are a few quick pics of the X-Type and the Mondeo it replaced - I will post up some better pics as I took a few nice ones today.
Just got back from picking it up (about a 60 mile trip back)

Nice Dash Illumination

Quick go at an over exposure

Old Mondeo on the drive after a polish

Very Shiny Paintwork (The Jag will get this treatment when the weather is better)

Relegated to the road whilst the other car is cleaned

I knew they weren't sold over in the US, but can't be the first one on here surely? They are actually very nice - I wasn't sure if I wanted the Saloon or the Estate (Station Wagon) - but having seen a few of each I preferred the Estate just that little bit more and think having the split tailgate (so you can open just the glass as well as the whole tailgate) a nice feature.

First of all, welcome. I'm new here myself and I can assure you, you'll get the help you need.
I've seen Jaguar wagons for sale in the US....not many but some. Then, lo and behold, one was for sale just 50 miles from here. When I learned of it, it had already been sold. Wasn't a dealer. A couple were in California. I think they were left hand drive too.

Welcome Dave. In my area of the US (bay area, California) I've seen quite a few X-type estates. My dealer has one sitting in front for sale. Yours looks great. I've driven X-types many times (dealer loaners up until last year when they all dsiappeared). They were fun to drive and I never minded having one at allas compared to theFord Taurus's that became the norm. Now it's Fusions which are much better, but I do missthe X-types. Good luck with the new car and enjoy.

Hey Dave, welcome to our forum buddy
great to have you with us.Great intro too with about a million pics...lol......better than the norm, thats for sure!
Gotta love the old Mondys, I've had about 5 or 6 all in with the last one being the ST tdci......great cars. Were you a member of the FMOC or SMF by any chance?
If you'd like a forum decal for your X check out the off topic section and see some pics.....Hope you enjoy your time with us.
All the best
Jim
Hi Jim,
Nota member of FMOC but a long standing member of www.fordmondeo.org (Mondeo Enthusiasts Group - or MEG) as I have had a MK2 Diesel then the MK3 TDDi. I was considering a MK4 Diesel but they are managing to hold their value a little better than I would have hoped (as it would have had to have been a Titanium X Estate) - so the X-Type was the obvious choice as it feels familiar, but is significantly different enough to feel like a different car (if that makes sense) - plus it has enough toys to keep me occupied and happy for quite a while.
