Hi all, As new here, on the forum, I look forward to receiving and giving advice in my new role as owner of a Jag. Having had new cars in recent years, and had been able to buy yet another new Japanese car, but chose to buy a used S-Type instead.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the future holds, taking into account this decision.

My first Contact with the brand Jaguar was back in the sixties. I read about the E-type in a year book about cars, The book was about different car models of 1963. According to the author the only problem with the car "was some tiny vibrations that appeard in speeds over 125mph."

The suggestion, as described in the book, to solve the problem was to replace with sturdier shock absorbers.

From that day a Jag was on my want list. Friday last week I fulfilled this wish and bought an S-Type. Will get it on Sunday, (1 December), and my "new always wanted" adventure starts.

I´m Reading in a lot of forums concerning the new family member, takes a lot of time but very informative. At the same time I get a little scared when reading about all errors that can occure, hope the first month with the car will be calm, so my don´t get upset.

If it were me I'd be stretching that 3000 oil change recommendation but it is what makes you happy that counts.

Thank you for your concern. It´s not the oil Changes that scares me, it´s all the other stuff, for example errors inte the electrical system and suspension.
