My name is Harry Carmony. I live in Marshall Texas.I own two XJS Convertables. One is a red 1989, and the other is a gray 1991...Both have perfect bodies with very recent paint-jobs...Both of them are very good cars.

I have always done all of my own work on all of my cars and trucks, and I have a lot of experience working on mechanical things, but there are a lot of types of work I have managed to avoid, such as suspension, transmissions, rear axles, computerized electrical systems...And Certainly I have NEVER worked on any JAGUARS...

Even just the sight of the V-12 engine causes me to put the hood back down...-But I bought two of these cars, because I am determined to Learn How To Work On XJS Jaguars...and not back down from ANY of it...(altho if it is transmission or differential, I will take a bad one out and put a good one in, -

But I dont have any intentions of learning the guts of either...-and same with any major internal engine problems- I will take a bad one out and put a good one in...)

I am 60 years old and retired...I have a budget that has room for me to make a few mistakes, and learn all involved...I can keep a couple of beautiful Jags in very good condition and that is my plan...

I have the Factory Shop Manual, and I have good workshop and tools, and can buy more if I need.So far I spend most of my time trying to find information and instructions on the internet.I do have one friend who is AWFULLY good mechanic, and well experienced with Jaguars, but I really want to learn all of this with my own hands.

I am lucky in that both of my engines are in VERY good condition. Both still showing factory specs on compression tests, and both having had very good maintanance before I got them.

The 89 has 68K miles and the 91 has 104K...I am looking forward to keeping both of them good and right...

Thank you very much for accepting me into your club....
