Hi I am Dalton Spiers. I live in south MS. I am in the process of restoring a 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas. The car sat in a barn in my community for most of its life. I begged the older gentlemen to sell me it but he refused. Two days after the owner had passed a way, his late wife have the car to me. So the restoration begun. All the wiring under the bonet was gone due to rats. We replaced the original engine (which only had 50,000 miles on it) with a Chevy 350 engine. And that's me. Thanks. And sorry for not doing this to begin with.

Welcome to the forum Dalton,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Is the VdP running yet? I don't envy you the task of sorting out chewed wiring harness!

Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information and to post questions about your vehicle.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues. Model specific posts should always go in the appropriate model tech section and not in General Tech Help.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southern MidWest Region forum by following this link Southern MidWest - AR LA MS KY TN AL - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
