Hi all
just joined the forum so quick intro as to why where what for sort of thing,
I recently dipped my toe into jaguar ownership for the first time 2 weeks ago with the purchase of a 1999 s-type 4.0 and have since found the water level way past the ankle and heading for the head
I was the proud owner of a 1.6 alfa romeo 147 until someone reversed into it and the insurance company wrote it off, looking for something cheap and economical for work I found myself looking at jaguars (Don't ask why, I still don't know) anyway saw an advert for dark green metallic 4.0 v8 beauty and just couldn't stop myself. I had a good read on this site for usual faults/things to look for and bought it.
2 weeks into ownership and I love it, powerful, effortless, comfortable etc etc etc.
So far it has overheated, replaced header tank,
air con has lost its gas, still not sorted
replaced front discs and pads
reverse sensors beeping when off and locked, just charging battery to check for standing discharge rate.
I have found this site really interesting and helpful and I am sure I will be needing to use it again and maybe even able to contribute in the future.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the S-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
