I recently bought a new Ford Explorer for my wife and have now inherited her '96 XJ6 which she has driven for the past 13 years. I originally bought the car for myself, but she loved it so much that it quickly became hers. At the time of purchase, I had to choose between a newer Camry (wife's choice) or the Jag, which had 57K miles at the time. I chose the Jag. I recently found this site looking for "how to" information, since I am by no means a trained mechanic.

Over the years, I have experienced most issues that can go wrong with a Jag, but still have enjoyed every moment driving this wonderful machine. I just changed the valve cover gasket and plugs and she runs like new. I now have 187K miles on her and my intent is to fix the current issues inherited from my wife (washer reservoir, drivers door handle again, cup holder, cd changer) and hopefully drive it for at least another 10 years.

Look forward to participating on the site.

Welcome to the forum SFPat,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link US Southwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

I would not be one bit surprised if, once the newness has worn off, you end up inheriting that Ford Explorer when your wife decides to reclaim her Jaguar. Meanwhile, enjoy!

Welcome.

I agree, the Explorer will fade quick time, and you will loose the Jag AGAIN.

Next time BUY HER A JAG, she will object, its a female thing, but she will luv you again, for sure.

I might keep the Jag. She wanted the Explorer to haul grandkids around. Then again, if I fix these minor issues........need to think about that
