Hello and thanks for accepting me into the forum, I am 47 and live in the UK and purchased my first classic last year in the shape of a 1966 Jaguar Mk2 3.8. My late father was always a Jaguar fan owning several Mk2, XJ6 and XJ12 but due to health and financial reasons he had to make do with lesser cars later on in his life. I have a photo of me under 12 months old being held by my mum next to one of his beloved Mk2's and have always wanted one of these beautiful cars and decided that last year I was feed up with waiting and took the plunge. Spent well well past my budget (much to my girlfriends annoyance) and bought the best I could afford. Had it two months and had a small engine fire which meant an Insurance job with an engine and gearbox removal. Although there was nothing really wrong with what came out I decided to rebuild or replace what went back in as it was in essence free labour as the Insurance was paying for the refitting. So out came the credit cards and boy did they get a spanking. It was not a matching numbers car which never bothered me so we went to town and fitted rebuild fast road engine with T5 gearbox, Coopercraft brakes with 6in CWW, lightened flywheel, big bore full stainlees exhaust, HID lighting etc etc. Finally got her back from the garage after much waiting about three weeks ago. Apart from a few issues that the garage has 'overlooked' which to be honest I would rather sort out than give them back the car for another lengthy term she goes like a dream with an exhaust note to match. I have attached a picture (I think) for all to see. I will be posting questions in the near future so please excuse my basic knowledge.
Many thanks
