Well, after a month of hawking this site, I've finally felt it my duty to go ahead and join. I will re-visit some of the threads I've taken info from and get my "Thanks" out as soon as possible. Given all the info I've garnered here though, that could take some time....

This is my first Jaguar, though I fell in love with her 12 years ago when I first got a ride in her. My friend's Dad originally bought her from a neighbor in 2001, but hasn't been able to take care of her the last few years, so I jumped at the opportunity to own her. One problem - her condition is definitely on the decline.

Though I am quite mechanically inclined, I only felt the slight bit comfortable in committing to this "love affair" after discovering this site and the wealth of knowledge it contains. For that gentlemen, I thank you.

This pic is her after 2 HOURS of exterior only cleaning. She had been parked outside the last 9 months. I didn't think to take a "Before" picture, but then again I don't think she would have liked to have one taken of her in that state..... (Pretty obvious I am in love with this car I think...haha...)

Project number one - the tensioners and timing chains of course. That will be my next post as I am looking forward to getting them in and becoming a full part of this forum.

Though I did read the "required" New Member information, any comments, corrections, or instructions on using this forum more effectively are welcome!

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Ok, first question. I am planning to continue some "introductory" posts. If they start to get in to what I've done to the vehicle thus far, and I have some questions or ask for comments, should I start a new thread pertaining to that particular "project", or just continue on this thread?
