New Member - 1998 XJ8L Silver
Recently bought on a whim, car had a slight knock (couldn't hear it from inside the car) but I never dreamed the fix would entail so much $, time and research. But I'm ready to take the plunge.
After changing the cracked secondary tensioners the knock is still there but now with an additional knock about every five seconds at idle. Sooo ... the current plan is to change the primary timing stuff (I think I can see a crack in the plastic primary guide). I hope that this forum will be invaluable in fixin' this Cat, because otherwise she's soooo clean.
