Hello everyone, my name is Jody. I live in NE Texas, United States. I am a semi-retired technician with over 35 years of working experience on many different makes and models of cars and trucks. I spent the last 15 years before retiring specializing in rebuilding automatic transmissions, which took me out of the daily grind of general repair service (I feel like I have forgotten much more than I probably have).
I joined the Forum to find some helpful information on this car that my wife talked me into buying for her. It has a few minor things that need some attention, but nothing to terrible.

Welcome to the forums Jody,

Good to have you with us. The jury's now out on whether you will be giving us more than we can give you. Auto transmissions is where the abilities of even the most competent DIY'ers usually ends and the cry for help goes out.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Jody,
I've done a few slush boxes as we called them on the farm, but they were Chrysler units usually, because that's what I started with in college.
Now time and expedience requires me to take them to Specialists.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
