I am now the owner of a 1998 XJ8L...147k miles. It came from the mom of a Jag dealer who fixed the major issues- tranny, throttle body, and timing chain/tensioners.
Nice car- I drove a 1976 right hand drive XJ6 in the late '70's that belonged to a friend. This has some of those same driving excitement experiences.
I live in Franklin,TN and although I am used to doing a lot of basic repairs on my vehicles, this one does have me a bit jittery. I'd be interested in information on some of the basics- brakes, fuel filter and the like.
I look forward to information sharing here.

I put the car info on my page...apparently it does not show up automatically?
This Jag is left hand drive. The one I drove in 1979 was a right hand XJ6 with 4 speed. Interesting to drive such a car, that is for sure!

Welcome,
Yes - your vehicle details are showing up.
With the three major issues of the early V8's taken care of, you should be looking forward to many miles of trouble free motoring. Head on to the X308 section for all the info on routine maintenance items.
