Default New Member after lurking for the last few years

Just posting the first as new member, I have been lurking and using all the helpful Technical info in this fourm for last few years, there has been more than one posts that has helped me out a jam for my work and for my own vehicles. I own an XJ8L and I am looking to purchase an XJS Drop head, so I have been using the fourm even more so lately.

My Brother (JustV12) up in Toronto Canada has been a member on the fourm for the last few years.

I have worked as a contractor on and off for Jaguar Cars of America in Warranty division and also with CPO auditing in Florida for the last 13 years. Over 30 years as Master ASE Certified Tech, with some time as an A line tech in a Jaguar dealership and some time other British motor cars.

Now that I am a member I hoping I may be able give back some info to help others as much as I have been helped by these fourms.

Welcome to the forum 308, always good to see someone with your experience. You will find this to be a very friendly forum.

I'm guessing that you are going to keep with family tradition with the XJS or are you going to risk a 3.6?

Thanks for the welcome Richard

Yes I will most likely break the family tradition, my brother is a v12 nut, and I can respect that, but Jags are incredible cars not matter what is under the hood. I always liked the jag 6 over 12, I think it is cool to have the 12 but It has been my experience overall that the 6 is little more reliable and easier to work on than the 12. Though after working on later model jags I have grown to respect the V8s design and may look for a late model 90s or early 2000 XK drop head instead of the xjs. It always come down to what I find at what price, you know how that works
