New Member From Australia
Hello everyone. I have placed a post on the forum a couple of weeks ago but hadn't introduced myself. I live in Central Queensland in a small beachside town.
I bought a 1987 Daimler Soverign some time ago and it is a beautiful car.
It is gunmetal grey metallic and has only done about 180,000klms and has log books from new, I am the third owner but it has some problems that have to be fixed like a new temp sensor (gauge shows about 130 degrees when the motor is stone cold), a couple of flashing warnings that have been there since I bought it (like abs lock failure) and a leak in the brake system between the booster and the master cylinder.
Anyway I hope I can get some answers to my problems as time goes by.
Unfortunately I will have to sell this lovely vehicle in the future as I have a caravan to rebuild so my wife and I can go travelling in our retirement, but in the meantime I will be enjoying the luxury this vehicle provides.

Welcome to the forum barmaryee,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ40 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Australia - Queensland Region forum by following this link Australia - Queensland - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

. . . small . . . beachside? . . . Gotcha . . . Townsville, right? . . . What? WHAT? . . . Oh; OK . . . Bargara?
Anyway, HUGE welcome [barmaryee]. My fellow regional coordinator Clarke [o1xjr] will be along shortly to roll out the freshly cleaned red carpet for you, but in the meantime . . . can I offer a few neighbourly tips. As fairly typical, friendly, laid-back Aussies, we tend towards a first name basis, but still sensibly aware that this is a publicly open forum.
If you navigate to the [User CP] on the main menu bar, then scroll down to [Edit Signature], it's a great move to include your Jag's model/year/engine variant etc as a brief but ongoing flag to those offering help to ensure it is accurate and relevant for your specific car. You may wish to add a pic of your beastie - either in your sig or, using the nearby [Edit Avatar] like mine.
Do jump over to the QLD regional forum and say "Hello" in the Roll Call thread. There, you will find other enthusiasts, some of whom may have the same or similar model to yours. You will get lots of pointers from Clarke and the team . . . poor fella has been up all night working, so be gently with him . . . . frail, very frail, these Queenslanders!
QUICK . . . Hide!
Anyway mate . . . dive in and enjoy. Sounds like you have a good model to embark on the great voyage of discovery that owning and caring for such a beauty will offer. Perhaps she will give you pause in your current plan to eventually sell and move on. Caravans come and go . . . these beautiful Cats deserve to run forever.
Best wishes,
Ken

Hello barmaryee, welcome to the forum.
post an intro in the Qld roll call thread, and see who is in your area. I think the guys above have pretty much covered all the bases.
