Bought my first Jag this week. I've loved them for a long time, since the early 80s when a guy at my high school drove a 68 E type as his DD Senior Year. I almost fell out of love in the mid 00's with S type and X type but the XK kept the love going. I could never afford one new, or more realistically could not justify spending more on a car than I had my first house, but I'm finally at a place where I could justify buying one used. So how do you buy a nearly $60,000 luxury vehicle for 20K? You buy a 2009 XF Premium Luxury with 51K miles.

All the folks I work with are impressed, some have asked why would you buy a Jag instead of a Merc? With one look at the car they have gotten their answer. It's gorgeous, it's well optioned, and it drives like a dream. So far I'm quite happy. Now if I could only get the Bluetooth to work consistently but that is a topic for a different thread. Still figuring it out and getting used to driving it. I thought I might be disappointed in not buying a SC car but I've had fast cars (425 HP in 3000 lbs) and this car is not fast but it's plenty powerful enough for me at this stage of my life.

Hello, Brian,
I agree with you, the most Beautiful Jaguars came Before they looked so much like Ford's; which isn't surprising as Ford owned Jaguar during the Ugly Years and managed to ruin most models.

Congratulations on your first ever Jaguar.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
