Hello everyone,

I just bought my first Jaguar. It is a silver 2007 X Type, 3.0 AWD with 89,000 km. I am the second owner and the car was in great shape, inside and out. The car drove great in the first two days that I owned it but now things are starting to break down. I would really like to fix everything and keep the Jag for a long time. I was hoping to do it proactively but looks like that won't happen!

I live in Brampton, ON, Canada. We have nice summers and for that time of year I drive a 2011 Mustang, sterling grey with red Le Mans stripes. The Jag will be my winter car. I've always wanted one since riding the bus every day past a Jaguar dealership on my way to university 10 years ago. Anyways, I would like to learn from more experienced members how to take care of the car and hopefully pass this knowledge on to others.

Welcome to the forum ChelseaFC2014,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. I hope you soon have the engine and heater issues resolved and can enjoy your Jaguar.

I know you've already found your way to the X-Type tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your country.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome for a fellow Canadian and Ontario resident!

Have a look in our dedicated regional section (see my sig) possibly you'll find someone in the Toronto area with a recommendation for a mechanic.

Welcome to this great forum . Speaking from experience you will need the advice you get here!
Having lived and worked 10 years in Brampton {BAY Warehouse} I am surprised at your choice of Jag for winter car. The winters can be brutal though not like Buffalo's
3 years ago driving my XJR 2001 and exiting the 401 to a TH in London at very low speed I slid on ice into a parking curb stone .
Major damage to front end.
However others in the Northern States may offer more encouragement!!
