Last month, I picked up a 2005 Super V8, which made me pretty happy. I saw my first Jaguar in person when I was 15, a 94 XJ BRG/tan, and I fell in love with styling. Thankfully, Jaguar kept making cars with the similar lines years later.

 

I saw my first Jaguar (early 1960s sedan) in the early 70s in a friends garage. I was also about 15 at the time. The car was dark blue with more wood and leather then I had ever seen in any one car (georgous). I used to go out to my friend's garage and just sit in that car...

It took me over 30 years, but I finally have my own now. Same color in an XK convertible. Funny how I again find myself going out to the garage to sit in that beautfiful automobile. Ahhh, same feeling, exactly the same....

Thank you all for the warm welcome. My Super V8 is black on black. That's the only I'll buy except for:
XK (BRG & Tan)
Impreza WRX (Rally Blue & Gold Wheels)
Ferrari (Red). Like I would say no to a hot pink one!
I'll get a picture or two soon. The car is completely stock and I plan to keep it that way.

Welcome to the forum. Like you I also have an aluminium XJ, an XJ6 3 litre, and a lovely car it is too.

Unfortunately, the car was not as successful as Jaguar wished, as all the reptiles (testers !!) in the magazines said it was old fashioned. Well maybe the styling went back a long way, but the car is a real technical tour-de-force. The first Jaguar I fell in love with at around your age was the Mark 2 of 1959, and I had one of these too, many years ago in the 80s.
