New Member Considering the New 2011 XJ
Hello to all from a new member in the Victoria B.C. Canada. I am rather to posting so here goes.
Currently we own a 2005 XJ VDP and a 1967 E-Type roadster (which is tucked away from the snows of the Canadian winter). Over the past ten years or so we also have owned a 1996 XJ VDP and a 1997 XX8 Coupe. All exquisite, beautiful and surprisingly reliable cars. I think it is safe to say we have become a Jaguar family.
In September we toured Britain with a Jaguar car club from California and visited a delightful collection of car related venues including Brooklands, Goodwood Revival, and ,of course, the Jaguar Heritage Museum as well as the Jaguar Factory at Castle Bromwich for a tour to see the new XJ while the line was in operation. The care and attention to building the new XJ by the workers and their robotic counterparts was impressive to say the least. Two shifts were running and every car on line line was a "sold" vehicle. Building for inventory is now a definite no no apparently.
I test drove the new XJ and to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. We are now considering a purchase of an XJL but are concerned about initial quality postings that have appeared on this forum. I realize any new car introduction has some problems that take some time to work out and adjust and am prepared to cut Jaguar some slack providing the problems are corrected promptly and to the satisfaction of the purchaser.
Has the recently released Update Package solved most/all of the major concerns of new owners out there? (I have noticed a significant reduction in problem posts since the Updates became available so perhaps new owners are out driving and enjoying the their cars rather than posting). Has the installation of the Voice Activation System made happy campers out of the majority of you new XJ owners? In general would you recommend this vehicle to a (new) friend?
Thanks for taking time to reply.

Nice intro full of info, thanks. Please remember that any forum is likely to show more problems / issues about any car / marque as that is generally why they're there in the first place.
Its good to have you here on one of the friendliest forums around......great members and top techs reside here.....there's usually a few laughs too, so its all good.
