New Member in Dubai
Good day ladies and gents, Exapt here living in Dubai, and I just bought a flood damaged 97 XK8, as a project car. I know, I know, but the electrics are all fine and she is up and running again. The only real water damage appears to be a corroded security & locking module. 15430 total miles.
I have followed other members that have posted their conversions here, and have learned a lot from their posts, so many thanks to them as well.
I look forward to sharing the experience, and learning from the pro's out there.

Welcome to the forum Dion,
That's a challenge!
Good to hear you've already found useful information here. This probably means you already know the way to the tech section but if not, follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You may also like to visit the 'Other Areas Region section by following this link Other Areas - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in the Middle East.
Good luck with the project and enjoy the forum.

Thanks guys, much appreciate the welcome. And the tips about finding your way around the forums. There is alot of info here, so it does help.
I bought the car in New Jersey, a victim of Sandy no doubt, and won her on auction online. She was sold as parts only, and it has cost me around $500 to get her fully functional again. Thanks to the good info posted here mostly
So I won a gem, and now find myself conflicted about even doing the conversion, as she runs ever so well. But, the money has been spent already, so I guess I will go ahead.
Thanks again ,and I will try to post blogs and pics of the progress, so that others may prosper from the info as I have done.
See you out there.
