as to why... well, it has been an ambition since childhood...

 

Sounds fair enough, I was just wondering if it was for a special use.

(there is a white S1 MAN/OD, waiting for me down at my wine merchant's. Needs to be brought back to life, would love to jump in, but need to wait).

 

my late dad had two series ones when i was a kid, i have wanted one of my own ever since....

i can still remember the day he got his first one in 1971, i came out of school and there he was waiting for me in a chocolate brown jaguar... i could not believe my eyes when i saw it had electric windows too, they were almost unheard of in those days unless you had a rolls royce....

i have just turned 50 and feel it is now or never for me, so i am taking the plunge for better or worse

 

I remember days like that too from a decade earlier. Go for it!
