New Member, first Jaguar
Hello,
Just bought my first Jaguar last night.
2002 S-Type, V8 4.0L 75000 miles, in amazing shape for a snow-and-salt state (pics in album)
It looks like it's never been driven in rain! I overpaid for it but the rental car was killing me and I didnt see ANY Jags under 10k in ANY condition here.
A has few scratches that you cant feel, maybe they might come out, I dont know. None are to metal. the paint is gorgeous everywhere else. I'd NEVER known this about Jaguars!
I need tires immediately... I see no open recalls on it, Edmunds lists warning sticker and fuel filter recall, thats it. Its clean inside and out and underneath.
Been garaged since new, I'm the 3rd owner I think.
Is there anything I should do right NOW to it, or anything I should watch for?
I know about the window actuators breaking and some had vibration from driveshaft. I'll wait for new tires before seeing if I get that harmonic vibration. I want to clay bar it and wax it as soon as possible, weather already between 35 and 60, I dont think it will get above 50 degrees again this year.
Any recommendations? I used to be a mechanic, so I might know what you mean without too much detail. Thanks!
