Default New Member Intro.

Hi, I’m from the Chicagoland area, I live in Northern Indiana. I recently bought my 2nd F-Pace. My first was a 2017 S and my new one is 2021 P-400 Dynamic. I’ve owned the 21 a little over 4 months now and have about 18,500 miles on it, it had 12,500 when I bought it. I recently called my dealer to schedule a oil change and service, plus take care of a Recall I received in the mail that has to do with my tail lights. They told me it was too soon for my scheduled service, if I wanted a oil change I would have to pay for it, $250.00. They want me to wait till I have 21,000 miles on it. I want to drive the car to Florida next month and then to California and I really don’t want to go to some other dealer for service while I’m traveling. Have any of you experienced this? If I go ahead an get the oil changed now, I am thinking of using synthetic oil, do any of you use synthetic oil? Does Jaguar put synthetic oil in at the factory? Leroy

Welcome to the forums Leroy,

Jaguar use and recommend Castrol Edge Professional engine oil (which is a synthetic) and this is what would be in your vehicle when it came off the production line. However, the most important consideration is SPECIFICATION rather than BRAND. Provided you use an oil meeting the same SAE grade (weight) and specification, it will not adversely affect warranty if you use engine oil from another manufacturer.
