Default New member intro

Hello to those who are interested. My name is David . I am 50 plus years old. my first memory of Jaguars was when I was 19 years old. I had the privilege to not only ride in a V-12 XKE, But to drive it for a short sprint. I have never enjoyed a motor vehicle more since that day. I never could afford a Jaguar, until only a few years ago when i happend upon the Estate. I do like to be different with my cars, and with the estate, well it is different alright. there are not many in my neck of the woods here in BC, Canada. I live in the valley, but it is just a short hop and a jump to the mountains, where the fun really starts.
Now that I have put a few miles on it, I need to do the upkeep to keep it running as smooth as it has in its first 160,000 km.
So I am turning to this site to ask and share with others info I can not get else where. Looking to make a few new friends as well.
That about sums it up at this time. Thanks to all in advance,
David.

Hello David!
I too was hooked after my first opportunity to drive a Jag twenty plus years ago. It was a Pale yellow XJ6 Series II. You always remember the first one, Eh?
Welcome to the Forum.

Hey David. The Estate is a rare commodity out here as well. Of course, you and Sidewalkman may come across one another.

I will get some pics up as soon as I get home.
I work up in northen BC IN Ft. Nelson and only get home every 3rd week for 7 days. I try to get as much time as I can to drive the Jag on my days off, as my family permits.
Lately thought, my oldest son turned 16 and has gotten his beginners Licence, so I have been teaching him how to drive.
He doe's well so far, and he has not put me into white knuckle mode yet.
At this time I'am looking into upgrading the shocks and struts.
I'am also considering lowering it.
Any thoughts on lowering ?

Hi there David and welcome to Jaguar Forums.

I cant wait to see a picture of your new baby (Jaguar that is!).

I still remember our first one about 16 years ago, it was a gold coloured (typical girl, colour first!), XJ40. The we went onto a XJ12 (very fast!) and we also aquired the old 1959 Mk9 as well as now having the XJ8.

The only thing that will now entice me away from a Jaguar would be an Aston Martin.

David, I believe all '05, 3.0 litre gaps are the same, 1.32-1.42mm (0.051-0.056 in) Please refer to the proper vehicle section for technical advice.
