It's nice to be be here. I live in Phoenix, AZ, USA. I own a 1996 XJR with 125,000. It's in excellent shape. I wanted to ask a question. Don't know if this is the appropriate place.

An "independent" replaced the supercharged pulley and belt today. The car was runnning fine until he worked on it. Now it won't idle. It stalls out every time I turn it over. Mechanic says he thinks it's a vacuum hose and will have to tear down the engine to get to the hoses.

I'm not comfortable with his work, or his explanation. Cn anyone give me a "heads up" about why the engine won't idle now?

Thanks.

Anthony C.

welcome aboard, good to have you here with us Anthony.

Sounds like an issue caused by the tech working on the car for sure if it was ok beforehand....
