new member with a Jaguar problem

Hi I'm Chris from Newcastle Australia
I just bought a 2002 x Type Jaguar 2.5 auto.
I got it very cheap but it has a problem no reverse it drives forward fine.
dose anyone no if this is common problem with the X Type.
