Default New member looking at S type Diesels

Hi guys, I'm new around here but not new to fourms. They were made from 2004, and it is an early example 2.7d I would be looking at.

1) Are there any big issues to look out for? I read in a search that some issues got fixed in 2005 on the diesel but it was not specific about them. I saw the FAQ sticky, looks like a lot of great PDFs there.
2) Are the manual gearboxes any good?
3) Heated seats seem quite rare, are they hard to retrofit?
4) I would need bluetooth, is a phone retrofit or aftermarket device possible, or do they use a complicated audio system with optical fibres and external amplifiers that prevent this? I read the audio schematic in the stickies, doesn't look too complicated.
5) Is in depth Jaguar diagnostic software available for the DIY'er?
7) Is the nav system any good? Are full UK postcode and speedcameras available?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Joylove and welcome to the forum. If you head over to the S-type section you'll probably find most of the answers you're looking for. There is also a Diesel Variant section that might help!

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

One other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.

Hello and welcome,

+1 to the advice from Gus.

If you post your specific questions on the S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section, you'll get a wider response from owners of the vehicle you're researching.

Better luck with finding a petrol version.

Graham
