Default LS1 XK8 project.

Looking for an 01 up XK for a lsx project. Considering buying a crashed on from a salvage auction. Based on the vin can anyone tell me what color it is?
SAJDA41C52NA24111

Is it Blue or Black?

I see you guys have a wonderful vin decoder and it looks like in 2002 a blue color wasn't offered!

Welcome to the forum Crusher,

If the original Jaguar VIN label is still on the doorpost above the catch, it will include sections with the three letter PAINT and TRIM codes which identify these accurately.

It sounds as if you've found the XK8/XKR 'HOW TO' thread. Plenty of other valuable information there.

Enjoy the forum and I hope the deal works out.

Graham

Looks superb.

A much better introduction to the XK8 than the original one you were considering. Does this one need work or is it ready to go?

Nice looking car. Like the wheels too, what kind are they? Were you able to check on past service?

This car is exactly what I wanted. A clapped out 2001 blue xk8 coupe. The engine overheated and warped the heads. Now I'm forced to LS1 swap!

That removes all doubt about how to proceed!

I'd always prefer to take on an engine or transmission swap rather than extensive bodywork repairs.

Good luck.
