......hello....i am new to this forum....but have owned jags for the last 20 years..including an xjs (two an 89 and 96-last year of production)...i also currently have an 85 xj-6 and just added a 2000 xj8-l..which i hope to be learning more about...the car is an" a minus" all the way around....

currently i am wondering whether or not to move to synthetic oil....or whether or not i can.....owners manual is silent on this....some say stay with the fossil others say ok to change...concerned as although i got a great price on the car...its a little up on clock...(just turned over 100k)...what are your suggestions?

Welcome to the forum jagjunky,

A good selection of Jaguar models both past and present. Prepare to settle in for some lengthy reading if you want to follow the often lengthy arguments for and against synthetics!

Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 section and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x308-xj8-xjr-27/ to the XJ8 section for help, advice, information and to post your own contributions.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the North East US Region section by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.
