Question New Member New Car Check Engine Light

Hello All, Picked up my 2011 XK black on black at the end of January. I sold a rear engine dragster, trailer, truck and a 2010 Challenger SRT8 to get it. What a car - the looks, handling and performance are unbelieveable. So far I love it but I'm a little bummed. Just over 2000 miles and the check gas cap light has come on several times and yesterday the check engine light came on. Will call the dealer for warranty tomorrow. Other similar experiences with a new car?

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
I expect the dealer will sort you out, let us know how it goes.

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Glad to be here and thanx for the warm welcome. Looking forward to sharing info etc. As for the CEL, dealer said it was a small evap leak from the gas cap. Did the check 3 times after clearing the light with no repeats. Didn't change any parts so time will tell.

May want to read the OBDII port. You can do that with an android application called TORQUE and a simple blue-tooth adapter. Reads all the codes, and allows you to have real-time access to all of the ECU data points also.
