New Member, Northern California
Hello to you all...
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself as a relatively new Series 3 XJ6 owner. I managed to find a 78000 mile from new car in the bay area at the end of last year in Nimbus white that is totally original and after a little investigation it is within the last 300 series 3 XJ6's off the line.
Many years ago I went for a ride in an early 80's XJ6 and it never left me and finally I'm able to realize ownership..
In the past few months I have had the rear end out to replace the rotors and at the same time I rebuilt the calipers, the exhaust has been repaired as it was hanging on by a thread just forward of the middle set of silencers. I have the ski slope out and am presently re-veneering it as it has suffered from cracking.
Still a number of things to address, I have to install the new 7" lights and trim pieces, I am going to modify the American bumpers to make them look a little more European and pleasing to the eye.
I am simply blown away by the quality of the ride this car gives. The body is in excellent shape with little to no bodywork needed (front valance is rotten but that is all).
Looking forward to many years of ownership
Hope to talk with many of you in the future
