Hi,
My name is Tobbie (pronounced Toby) and I joined the forum last month and I'm now realizing I didn't do intro.
I just traded my 04 S-type for an 04 XJ VDP. I loved the S-type, it was the 4.2. And the XJ is the same color, platinum with black interior.
I test drove the XJ and was sold on the ride. The S-type was nice, but the XJ is amazing. I learned a few things while I had the S-type and do some repairs myself, but I buy extended warranties for the 'little' surprises.
So far I have changed the brakes to ceramics and had an air strut replaced that was leaking. Also had to have the headlight switch replaced but that was covered under the warranty. Will also need headliner replaced, but not immediately.
So far have only driven the car about 200 miles, but have a trip planned in 2 weeks to go to Hilton Head and will put her to the test.
Everyone has been really helpful so far and had I had the forum I may have kept the S-type instead of trading it. (Kept it and bought the XJ that is) Here's to many more miles.
