Nice collection you have there. Shame about the Jag, but hey, you might persuade your body man to look at any other blemishes it might have at the same time.
Question, what's with the sticky tape number plates? Good looking classics BTW.

Yeah the mecanic is goin to paint the whole front of the car and mount the jag- hood ornament as well.. The sticky nr plate is kind of "one day use"... In the wintertime, i park my two mercs in the garage, and turn in the nr plates to the local DMV to save some money (road tax, insurance) But if i want to drive the car one day, i can buy a sticker to drive around for 24 hours...
No didnt make it for full 24 hours..and yeah...paying 17000usd for this it was really one expensive day

Got the car back on tuesday.. Was not in good condition.. the hood was way off the lines of the headlights... the bumper wasnt paintet all the way down, chrome list on the bumper was still dented.. så delivered the car back to the painter... Gonna remove some rusty spots on the roof and on the backpanel as well... change the frontbrakes and some parts in the sunroof mechanism so it will work again..
And all this happens one day of driving... yeey...

How do I reset the Valet button so my bootlid can be opened again?

Hey, Hey Wicky;
Welcome to the forum...these guys can keep you out of trouble and get you out of it if you can't avoid it.
Veni, Vidi, Vici, almost.
Too bad, happens to the best of us.
Once took out the entire suspension of my new MB 190-16 on some just rain washed gravel on a freeway exit....couldn't make the turn in the 'gravel' and went sideways over the center median.
When the police asked me why I wasn't upset I said "No one got hurt, it's only metal and that's what insurance is for. No worries."
Love the collection and the killer MB500, unusual color for those.
Next time I am in Oslo will have to look you up.
Good luck putting the XJ back together correctly.
"Any problem can be fixed with enough time and money" as my father used to say.
cheers,
jj

Yesterday I painted the grille in black, but left the frame in chrome..did alot to the front of the car...then started to paint the turnsignals into a bit more dark finish...

Think im going for a bit more darker color on all the orange signals.. Next thing...should i paint the brake calippers gold/red / silver / black?
Going back to the dealer to get the sunroof fixed this weekend..Does the sunroof tilt in the back?
