Hello, My name is Jack Pruitt, I am 76 years old and we live in Picayune, MS (60 miles NE of New Orleans) We have a '05 S-Type, 3.0. It has 54,000 miles, We have owned it since early '06. It was my Service Award to myself for 50 years of continuous work. We found it in Atlanta, the dealer said if it car was not as described that he would pay our expenses to Atlanta and back. My wife drove the car back to Picayune, MS, I lost my Service Award. Then she tagged "WUS HIS"!

Up until last week the car had had only one service problem, a $12 charge to reconnect the transmission shift linkage when one of two bolts backed out.
See my post, "Brakes, ball joints, headliner and sun visors.

My wife decided that she wanted a "Crossover SUV". We looked at SRXs, R350s, Lincoln, and Rovers. All had unacceptable road noise levels. Just the nature of the beast I guess. We decided to do the needed repairs and keep the Jaguar. It is the best car we have ever owned. We looked at the F-Type, my wife said it looked like a cross between the Lexis and a BMW, that it did not look like a Jaguar.

Jack

Welcome to the forum Jack,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums. Thanks for the interesting Intro.

I know you've already found the S-Type tech section so no need for a link from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southern MidWest Region section by following this link Southern MidWest - AR LA MS KY TN AL - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.
