Cool new member with question

We have a 2010 Jaguar XF with 57K miles. We travel frequently, come home after 10 days, car will not start. Will after jump. Funny thing, A/C louvers on dash activate, interior lights come on, headlights bright. Been to dealer 4 times, cannot replicate. They took it in on Friday, let it sit till Mon & it started right up. Duh - didn't let it set but 3 days. Then waited till Friday & again it started right up. They didn't let it set for the 10 days that triggers shutdown. Starter motor was checked for flat spot. They replaced the battery 3rd visit, even though I had a new Interstate installed about a year ago. Anyone experience this and outcome? Now when we travel I will put a battery tender on it.

Welcome to the forum Bakerauto,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You've discovered the problem - modern Jaguars are VERY sensitive to battery condition ........... and the solution - use a battery tender.

It's a regular issue with vehicles left for that length of period. Absolutely extraordinary that a Jaguar Dealer would claim not to be aware of this. The factory PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) procedures for stored and showroom vehicles include the instruction to use battery tenders.

Follow this link XF and XFR ( X250 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X250 forum for help, advice and information.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link USA Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Enjoy the forums.
