Bought a two owner car with 138K miles, has some new paint here and there, and oddly has a XJR grill in place of the VDP grill...probably some front damage allowed the first owner to modify the looks to his liking. Looks interesting to me cuz I don't think there was ever an XJR in Flamenco Red with creme interior?

The front shocks were rattling due to compressed upper bump stops, so I shimmed up the top nut with some washers and hey presto, no more rattle.

But, I get a bearing noise from the left front. Replaced the bearing using the old races and it sounds the same. So, I dunno...

But, I sure do love the car! I am now selling my '94Lexus LS400 (which must surely be the best car made). Not saying that it is soul-less, but well, maybe yeah! The Jag definitely makes me feel good getting into it, and making up excuses to go to some distant store on some phony errand. My lovely Lisa always falls for it too, and loves riding shotgun.

Question: Should I replace the inner tie rod ends, or replace the whole rack/pinion, taking into consideration the # of miles on the car...do they leak?

Thanks in advance.
Ed
