Welcome Laura! What year Trans Am do you have? My dad has an 87 GTA, with the 5.7L! A sweet ride, and ultra reliable. The longest lasting survivor of cars in our family. Had it since 1990 and we're are unsure, but we don't think that the car has reached 100K miles. (Digital Display broke last year with 96K miles on it) What about the S, what year is that? Hope you enjoy the S as much as I have, and good to see our female population growing!

Theft of the car is not a problem. Hood ornaments, major problem.

Good thing XJ40's dont have hood ornaments, lol...
Laura, what is a lo-jack?
I wouldn't worrya bout someone stealing the car just cuz it should have a security system.
Unless you live in like the east side of clevland, I wouldn't worry too much.

so it's simular to onstar. That's a good thing, hopefully they can locate it before it's in the chop shop.

That's what I hate most bout car stealing now, it's not like o my car is gone and you find it like a few months later, it's like o my car is gone, and maybe you find it when you order a part in the mail from ebay.

Lojak is a little like a big brother thing, but they only activate it when you go and report it. Onstar on the other hand isa lot worse. They can unlock ure doors using a damn satellite. what if they get a worker thats not legit and just tells his friends where a brand new car is and unlocks it for em to take away with no problem. i like the thought of onstar, but think it has a little too much control over the car. next thing you know theres a hidden camera in the car thats recording everything ure doing lol

Actually, on-star is only activated when you call and give a code, which is recommended that you change electronically every time you have to use it! The car will also have the fuel cut off when you call to report it stolen! As for stealing the car, there is something that all Jag owners can be proud of! If someone has the technology and ability to steal a Jag, chances are that they are capable of stealing Bentleys and Royces'! From what I've seen, quite the advanced and complicated system!

Having on star is definatly a good thing 04. Not only does it help secure everything, but you can get phone service and directions and other stuf I think. it was great on my moms buick for the 2 years we before she decided to cancel it.
