New member saying "hello" from Surrey UK
Hi all
I just joined up and wanted to say a quick hello. My name is Carl and I live in Surrey UK. Interested in cars (obviously ) motorbikes, watches, guitars and all the usual other "man" stuff :-).
I'm looking forward to joining the community and getting tech help and also possible meet ups with other members in the Surrey area.
Past cars have been MGBs but I had been looking for a "new" fun car for a while. I was originally looking to buy a spitfire, a GT6 or a motorbike for the summer. I saw the XJS for sale and throwing caution to the wind, went and had a look. The car had a load of documentation for past works, had a years mot and new p600s all round. Even more amazing is all the electrics work !! For now :-) ( I think the later Mks were more reliable in that department. I hope so any way !
This is the 3.6 auto. its nice and tight with zero rattles and still has the ability to get a shift on pretty rapidly, which is nice ! And its so easy to drive. I can't remember the last time I drove an auto, probably near 20years I guess but after a couple of goes at hitting a none existent clutch I was fine
Always wanted one of these, ever since I got a ride in one as a kid in a mates dads XJS. And now, 30 years since, I have one :-) Its not perfect but for the price I paid I think its a pretty good buy for a 23 year old car.
Insurance was a measly 120 quid fully comp, sometimes being old has its advantages.
I hope the honeymoon lasts, but its British and its a Jag so who knows !! ???
"Its a Jag baby YEAH"

Welcome to the forum Carl,
Looks a solid and tidy example.
Follow Norri's link to the XJS tech section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues. For everything else, some of the members have totally rebuilt their XJS's so there won't be many things can happen that they don't know how to fix.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forum.
