Hello all

Just introducing myself today as a new member and really looking forward to being part of this Jaguar community.

I live in Edinburgh and next Friday I will be taking delivery of my first ever Jaguar.

For many years I have hankered after and XKR but have so far resisted the temptation mainly due to a love of the 911.

In 1997 I broke my back via a motorcycle accident and as a result have now retired my legs and instead get about in a lightweight titanium wheelchair.

I was very fortunate that my injury left me with full use of my upper body and the ability to drive.

My history of cars spans 911, Aston Martin, SL55, M3 CSL and various M cars and a GTR.... Well they were the exciting ones and various family wagons.

Since the launch of the XKRS with its brutish and handsome looks this has been a car on my radar to buy but with caution as early depreciation is quite heavy.

So this week the wait is over as I have found an absolute cracker here in the UK that I should be driving next Friday. I understand that it was a VIP car registered to Jaguar and has done 3300 miles. I was keen not to buy an ex press or track car as they may have been enjoyed a little too much!

It is finished in Stratus Grey with black leather and white stitching. The wheels are polished black which are a bit different to most which I have seen in graphite.

It is currently 400 miles away and I have not even seen it so this week is going to be a long wait. I have watched most of the videos and read various reviews and now have a good idea what is going to be like. My summary is Awesome but needs respect!

My plans are to use it most days and try and get in on track but I may retire it for a while when the snow and salty roads arrives.

So that's for now, my first post and now I must sign off as the I need to take the kids to play rugby.

All the best

Welcome to the forum Jonathan,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar Forums.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Several of us here could easily have had similar with motorcycles. That's a great selection of cars you've had since you turned to four wheels.

Follow this link XK / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Enjoy the XKRS and enjoy the forums.
