New member, second Jag, but......
.... my first was a '63 E coupe nearly 40 years ago. Just acquired a '07 XK conv, Frost Blue, which is about the same color as my old E. That original was pretty much a poster child for everything that was both good and bad with the early cars in the days before they were being restored beyond anything the factory ever imagined.
To be fair, I purchased the E as a 13 year old car (that was really old back then) when I could not afford to maintain it properly, much less restore it. Had it in Montana when there was effectively no speed limit on the highways there; and that, along with the beauty of it, was the good. The bad was sitting on the side of the road outside of Hays, Kansas, with a thrown rod bearing while needing to be in Florida the next day on military orders.
I have been fortunate enough to own and drive quite a few exceptional automobiles of various makes over the years, both here and in Europe, and a couple years ago began thinking about what I might like to have as, hopefully, my final "cool" car. Final because I would like to keep it for decades rather than years. Styling opinion is of course personal and subjective, but when the new '07 XK arrived, I thought it was the best looking Jaguar since those early E's. So at that point I began thinking about it.
The reliability of current Jags (thank you Ford, and hopefully Tata) compared to the old cars is something I appreciate much more now than in my youth, and of course like everyone else I've been spoiled by modern features. So I finally decided to search for a relatively low mileage car in a color I liked, and that isn't seen all that often. This is the result.

Looking forward to getting involved with other owners, and the club, here in NoVa. Finally, I've been trolling this forum for some time as part of my research; so, I'd like to offer a grateful THANKS to those administrators and participants who have made it what it is, and in so doing helped me immeasurably.
