New member seeking Jag
Hello all -
Just posting up to introduce myself to the group. I'm Alex from Knoxville, TN, and I'm finally looking at getting a Jag. My dad had a '74 XJ12L for the first 15 years of my life (never ran during that time), but one day I hope to have one just for the memories of it. Always dreamed of restoring one. My mother has a '90 XJS convertible that I learned to drive on, so there's a Jag history, and just waiting to get my own. For now, though, I'm looking at the X308 models because those were the new models when I was a kid first getting into cars. Now some of those have come down enough in price that it's a reasonable college graduation gift to myself . They seem to be among the more reliable versions out there. My personal automotive history has consisted of 8 years of owning 1980's BMWs (E30s and E24s) ranging from almost perfect condition to almost junkyard quality, and I do all my own mechanic work. I am looking to replace my 1983 636csi daily driver with something that has A/C and a few more functional creature comforts. But enough of the rambling. Looking forward to learning and hopefully one day driving my own Jag.
