Hello All,
I guess I got the cart before the horse and posted a recent problem before starting here. So I'll play catch up. I purchased a 99 xj8 a couple of years ago for my Son, for a "really good price". He's a car buff, & we watch Top Gear all the time. I know.....nice car for a 19 year old. But I figured if I could keep him out of the drifting cars (which would've cost me what the Jag did), I would be better off. Nice safe cruising ride instead of the racy little 4 cylinder. Have had a few problems, and been able to work through them, thanks to a nice MAC code reader from my brother in law. We did donate almost 2k to the local dealer for the 120k mile service, some hoses, etc. Wife had a cow though (I've always done most of my own maintenance). Body had 120,000 miles on it, engine was replaced under warrenty around 59,000. Am currently working on a no start issue. She cranks over, but no fire. Kid has had other priorities, so I'm not in a hurry until he's ready to assist. I will update my thread as we progress. I have received reply's, and Gus would appear to be an expert and a valuable asset to this forum. I'm glad everyone is here to help. I spent 30 years in the Coast Guard working on ship operating systems, including many diesels larger than the entire Jag. But, diesels are not as picky as these Jags seem to be. I've never seen a car with so much wiring, and so many fuses! I've rambled on enough. Thanks for being here.

Update & Thank You
Greetings. I don't know if anyone comes back here after making a post. But, I wanted to thank those of you that posted welcome replies.
Jim, Thank you for the manual update of forum usage. Admittedly I had tried to click on various links to no avail prior to reading rules, etc.
Jaguars are wonderful works of engineering and a pleasure to drive.
Regards,
Ralph
