I had been dreaming of an XJ6 1997 for some time, when I one day sent an ad to a friend to explain to him what I was looking for, and realised that yes, it was exactly what I had been looking for, and the price wasn't bad either. I called the seller and asked if the car was still available, and it was. Barely. He hasn't been able to sell the car so his dad had promised to buy it, and when I called, they were sitting at the table getting ready to sign the papers.
That was seven years ago and it was pure joy driving it home 1000 + km.

I have made several long trips with it in Finland, Norway and Sweden, and it has mostly worked very well. But two years ago it just refused to start. The starter turned but the engine wouldn't ignite. After trying to get it fixed for two years at the local repair shop, I finally realised that I probably need to try to look into it myself, and with this problem Youtube turned out to be my best friend. I changed the crankshaft speed sensor and the car started smoothly on the first try! Two days from now I'm taking it to the mandatory inspection, and next week by this time, we should be on our way on a roadtrip around Europe.

But now I am getting a little worried about the lock problem I posted about earlier.
