Hi all, I've been following this forum for some time and decided to join yesterday. My wife and I own a 2001 XJ8, Graphite Black which now has about 124,000 miles on it. I'm a former Grumman flight test F-14 Tomcat Plane Captain with lots of hours turning wrenches on the beast. I perform all my own maintenance on or other vehicles but have never really touched the Jag. It has always gone to a Jag dealer for maintenance. I want to start doing my own maintenance on the car to try and save some money. I will be posting a cooling issue we are having with the cat as I have done some of my own troubleshooting to narrow down the problem. This site seems to be just what I need to feel comfortable to take care of some issues with the vehicle, which really has been a terrific ride since we bought it new in 2001. Thanks, Tim

Welcome to the forum Tim,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-mid-atlantic-md-va-dc-de-wv-65/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you Jim for the warm welcome! I also appreciate the quick upgrade! I'm still navigating the site getting my bearings. I'll get there eventually. Maybe now I'll be able to solve some mysteries of our Jaguar.

I am a BIG fan of the F14. A friend's Dad was a pilot in the first operational squadron. Cool planes......
