New member Victoria Australia
Hi All, firstly apologies for posting an issue before posting a howdy here first
Originally from London but have lived in Australia since 1990. I'm based in Maldon, Australia, small town in country Victoria. It was a former gold mining town in the 1850s.
Have owned a 1990 XJ40 (base XJ6 4.0) back in the early 2000s and did all the mechanical and cosmetic fixes on it myself. Shocks, engine mounts, bushings, bearings, heater core, headliner, steering rack and starter motor to name a few. I then leased a 1999 X308 XJ8 for a while before moving on to something else.
Fast forward to 2010 and I bought a 1980 Silver Shadow II to get my hands dirty again. Rebuilding the brake pumps on that one at the moment .
In the last 4 months I've purchased a 2004 X350 XJ8 3.5 in British Racing Green. I've already fixed a few easy cosmetic issues (missing interior and exterior trim).
Now fixing the door locks (other post) and then have suspension bushes, some minor work on the air suspension compressor as well as a few other bits and bobs.
This is a great forum with tons of useful information. Well done !
Hope I can add something.
cheers
Paul

Greetings Paul and welcome to JF.
Saw your locale as Maldon and know it well. Before your time, we lived in Sunraysia on the Murray. Our E-Type often passed by on the Calder Hwy during regular back and forth trips from Mildura to Melbourne.
Admire your choice of chariots mate . . . two down, five to go . . . gotta have one for each day of the week, eh?
Great news is that you are surrounded by Jaguat enthusiasts in Vic. Take a peek, chuck in a post at the Vic regional forum. Steve and the tribe there will be helpful re local suppliers and services. The broader membership here are generally a friendly lot and your specific XJ40 and X358 forums have Stickies full of manuals, FAQs and other resources. These are backed up by gurus who will help with any further tech questions.
Cheers and best wishes,
